Fournier’s Gangrene Post Circumcision in a Tertiary Hospital in Southern Nigeria

Purpose: Fournier’s gangrene is a rapidly progressing necrotizing fasciitis. It true urological emergency. relatively rare condition. The aim was to highlight the presentation and management of following circumcision.
 Methodology: This retrospective study. Eight patients who presented with features post circumcision between January 2012 December 2021 University Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital UPTH were included in A questionnaire used obtain data from all listed medical records department as having been treated for during study period.  Findings: total eight had FG circumcision. median 14days range 10 days 10years. parents most (87.5%) no formal or primary education. Most (62.5%) 4 6 after onset symptoms. Five 8 their by traditional attendant. Three One patient died. Circumcision can be predisposing factor especially if it home, untrained personnel. Early gives best outcome.
 Recommendation: Only trained personnel should carry When caregivers notice any unusual change they present immediately hospital.
